The Interpretation of the Yangming Meridian

The Yellow Emperor asked, "The disease of the foot Yangming meridian, the evil person and fire, upon hearing the sound of wood, they are alarmed and startled. The bells and drums do not move, but upon hearing the sound of wood, they are startled. Why do they wish to hear it?" I am afraid of the sun: Wang Yangming is the meridian of the stomach, and the stomach is the scholar. Therefore, those who are startled by the word "Mu Yu" (wood nurturing) are detested by scholars. The emperor said, "Good." What is its evil fire? Qicai Ri: Yangming governs the flesh, and his pulse is rich in blood and qi. When pathogenic factors invade, it causes heat, and if the heat is severe, it leads to evil fire. The emperor said, "What are these two evil people?" Reading the fear of the sun: During the reign of Emperor Yangming, he would pant and lament, and lament would be evil. Human beings. The emperor said, "Why do some people breathe and die, while others breathe and live?" If one is afraid of the day, one will die if one is in a state of rebellion and storage; if one is in a state of connection with the scriptures, one will be reborn. O return: goodness. When the illness is severe, one may abandon their clothes and walk away, climb high and sing, or even go without food for several days, climbing over walls and onto houses. All the places they go are beyond their usual capabilities. How can they do anything when their illness recedes? Fang Bo said: The four branches are the foundation of Yang. When Yang is abundant, the four branches are solid, and when they are solid, one can climb high. The emperor said, "Why did he abandon his clothes and leave?" The heat is so intense that one abandons farming and wants to leave. The emperor said, "What is it that he speaks rashly and scolds the camp, and sings regardless of closeness or distance?" Qi Bo said: When Yang is excessive, it makes people speak rashly and curse, not avoiding closeness or distance and not wanting to eat, and not wanting to eat but daring to leave rashly.
