Zhao Yuanliang is from Hexi, Gansu Province. When he was young, he studied in Beijing. During the war, he put down his pen and joined the army, serving in the cavalry regiment of Ji Hongchang under the Western Army. He was skilled in swordsmanship. Due to his bravery and intelligence in the battle against the Japanese Championship, he achieved repeated victories and was later promoted to the position of cavalry platoon leader. After Ji Hongchang's death, Zhao joined Zhang Zizhong's troops and served in the reconnaissance company of the Secret Service Battalion. On May 16, 1940, during the same battle at the pumpkin shop, his left arm was broken. Fortunately, he survived and was sent to Yichang for treatment. When Yichang fell, they moved to Yunyang. After recovering from his injuries, he was already half disabled. Feeling the vicissitudes of life, in 1941, he resolutely became a monk on Wudang Mountain, took Hong Yongshou as his disciple, and converted to Longmen, becoming the 19th generation disciple. After Zhao Yuanliang entered the Taoist realm, due to his physical disability, he placed particular emphasis on medical skills. After years of devotedly studying medicine under my master, I finally received his true teachings. He is particularly skilled in acupuncture. Since the early 1950s, it has widely opened the door of convenience. To treat the people's diseases and relieve their ailments without charging a penny. In 1957, the "Purge" and "anti-Rightist" movements affected the temples and shrines in Wudang. Zhao Yuanliang was arrested and imprisoned for "historical issues". Several years later, he was released and returned to the mountains, residing at the Golden Flower Tree (Chongxu Nunnery) at the foot of Wudang Mountain, still engaged in his old profession of treating patients from all directions. It is deeply loved by the local people. In 1987, Zhao Yuanliang passed away peacefully at the Golden Flower Tree at the age of 78.
