Master Longxin, whose given name is unknown, was a Taoist priest at the Yuxu Palace in Wudang during the Xianfeng and Tongzhi reigns of the Qing Dynasty (1851-1874 AD), and the inheritor of the Pure Yang Quan of Wudang. According to the book "Wudang Pure Yang Quan", Master Longxin was the 20th generation disciple of Longmen. After he became a monk in Wudang, his master observed him for many years and only taught him the Wudang Pure Yang Quan when he was in his fifties. It is recorded that this martial art was left behind by the founding master Lu Dongbin of the Tang Dynasty. Later, it was introduced to the Wulong Palace on Wudang Mountain by Daoist Master Yiqing, the 11th generation disciple of Longmen. Subsequently, it was spread from the Wulong Palace to the Yuxu Palace. After Master Longxin mastered its profound essence, during the Guangxu period (1875-1908 AD), he took on a disciple surnamed Wang from Liaodong and bestowed upon him the Taoist name Zhidao (self-styled as Yu Hualong). Seeing his devout devotion to the Tao, he imparted all his knowledge to him in the Pure Yang Boxing Technique.
