Chai Daoren, also known as Wuxi, was from Kunshan, Jiangsu Province. The high road of Wudang Mountain in the early Ming Dynasty. According to the "Junzhou Annals" of the Qing Dynasty, Chai Wuxi was initially a student of the Imperial College (that is, a student of the highest Confucian institution). Both my father and my uncles passed the imperial examination as jinshi. When Chai Wuxi was attending Tai Xue, his father had already passed away. Not long after entering school, he was reported by his domestic servant that his mother had passed away and was asked to go back to attend the funeral. When he and his servant reached Runzhou (now Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province), he wrote a letter, ordering his servant to return home first to report that he would first go to Wudang to pay homage to the Xuan Emperor and then return home. The domestic servant returned home and reported truthfully. When relatives and friends opened the letter and read it, they said that he had seen through the world and firmly returned to the Tao. He said goodbye to his wife and thanked his relatives and friends for taking good care of his family, and so on. After entering the Tao, Chai Wuxi became a disciple of Li, the son of Zuo Mai You Fu, to practice qi techniques (since Li was proficient in Tai Chi, the qi techniques taught to Chai Wuxi should include Tai Chi skills), and he deeply attained the Tao. In those days, in a certain place downstream of the Han River, there was a Taoist named Fan Xiaoxian. Chai Wuxi often visited him out of admiration. The two grew closer and closer. Later, when Chai Daoren visited Fan Xiaoxian, he happened to encounter the Jingjiang Prince who had bestowed upon Fan Xiaoxian a great deal of gold, silver and jewels. Fan Xiaoxian then took out these things for Chai Daoren to see, her words often showing off. Seeing this, Chai Dao Ren sighed and said, "So you still rely on others to keep you!" " Then he brushed away and left. Fan Xiaoxian felt extremely ashamed and kept chasing him all the way to the Guanghua area (now the area of Laohekou City in the east of Wudang Mountain) before catching up with him. She repeatedly apologized and invited him to return. But Chai Dao Ren didn't even look back and flew away as fast as he could. The details of his funeral are unknown.
