Zhang Hui Zhai, a native of Jingmen, Hubei Province, was a Taoist priest in Wudang during the Yuan Dynasty. According to the "Preface" written by Wu Sheng, a true scholar of Xuyang Baoguang, at the beginning of the book "The Secret Method of the Five Thunder Generals of Loyalty and Filial Piety" written by Zhang Huizhai and included in the "Zhengtong Daozang - Dongxuan Department - Zhongshu Category", Zhang Huizhai was originally a gongshi (i.e., a jinshi who passed the imperial examination) in Jingmen. Later, he accidentally obtained the Yin-Yang Divine Seal and dreamed of Zhuge Liang teaching the method of using the divine seal to recruit the loyal and filial divine troops to eliminate evil spirits. Therefore, he loved the book and left the secular world to enter the Taoist path of Wudang Mountain. Later, this method was passed down from Master Zhao of Quanyang to Master Huang of Guyang. During the reign of Emperor Zhizheng (1351 AD), Huang Zhenren retired to the Western Hills of Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, due to the disasters caused by the Red Turban Rebellion and the attack on Wudang. He passed away on the 15th day of the first lunar month (1369 AD). However, the birth and death of Zhang Hui Zhai are unknown. According to the "Brief History of Taoism in Wudang", this school mainly focuses on thunder techniques and is related to the Qingwei School of Wudang.
