"Treatise on Wind"

The Yellow Emperor asked, "The harm caused by wind may be due to cold or heat, or to heat, or to cold, or to sick people, or to partial dryness, or to wind. Qi Bo's view to the sun: The wind energy is hidden between the skin, unable to circulate internally or escape externally. The wind is good and changeable. When the pancreas is open, the wine becomes cold; when it is closed, it becomes hot and stuffy. Its coldness leads to a decline in appetite and drinking, and its heat weakens the muscles. Therefore, it causes people to lose grain and be unable to eat, which is called Sun Cold and heat. When the wind and Yang people are exposed, they follow the meridians upwards to the inner side of the eyes. If the person takes it, the wind cannot be leaked out, and the eyes will turn yellow due to heat. When a person is thin and cold, they will shed tears for their family. The wind and the sun enter together, and the meridians are affected. When the hands are dispersed and the flesh is divided, it is related to the defensive qi. If the path is not favorable, it will cause the muscles to become angry and ulcerated, and the defensive qi will condense and not move. Therefore, there is a lack of benevolence within. The patient has the heat attached to the moist qi. The qi is not clear, which causes the nasal pillar to be damaged and the complexion to be pale, the skin to ulcerate, and the wind and cold to damage the meridians and not dissipate. This is called arthralgia or cold and heat. In spring, when Jia and Yi are injured by wind, it is called liver wind; in summer, when Bing and Ding are injured by wind, it is called heart wind; when Li, Xia and Wu are injured by evil, it is called spleen wind; when Geng and Xin are injured by evil in autumn, it is called lung wind; and when Wang and GUI are injured by evil in winter, it is called kidney wind. The wind in the Yu area of the Five Cangs and six mansions is also the wind of the Cangs. The wind in each person's own entrance is a side wind. If the wind follows the wind house upwards, it is called brain wind. When wind enters the head, it is called "wind-cold eyes". If a person has a stroke after drinking alcohol, it is a case of air leakage. If a person sweats and suffers from a stroke, it is considered internal wind. If Xin Mu has a stroke, it is the first stroke. If wind persists in the middle for a long time, it will cause intestinal wind and diarrhea. The external knee joint is called earth wind. Therefore, wind is the chief of all diseases. When it changes, it becomes another disease. There is no constant direction, yet this is why there is wind. The emperor asked, "What are the different shapes of the five compartments of wind?" I am willing to hear about his diagnosis and his ability to treat diseases. Qi Bo said: The symptoms of lung wind include excessive sweating and aversion to wind. The color is 皤 pale, and there is occasional coughing and shortness of breath. The condition worsens during the day and becomes more severe at night. The diagnosis is on the eyebrows, and the color is white. The symptoms of heart wind include excessive sweating, aversion to wind, restlessness, frequent anger and fright, and a red color. In severe cases, one cannot speak quickly. The diagnosis is based on the mouth, and the color is red. The symptoms of liver wind include excessive sweating, aversion to wind, a tendency to be sad, a slightly bluish complexion that overlooks both good and evil, and occasional presence in women. When diagnosed, the complexion is bluish. The symptoms of spleen wind include excessive sweating, aversion to wind, listlessness of the body, lack of desire to move the four extremities, thin and yellowish color, no appetite, and when diagnosed on the nose, the color is yellow. The symptoms of kidney wind include excessive sweating, aversion to wind, sudden edema of the face, and pain in the waist and spine that makes it impossible to stand upright. The color of the skin is initially concealed and curved, and it is not smooth. When diagnosed on the forehead, the color is black. The symptoms of stomach wind include excessive sweating in the neck, aversion to wind, inability to eat or drink, blocked blood flow, fullness in the abdomen, abdominal distension without clothing, diarrhea after eating cold food, and a thin figure with a large abdomen. The symptoms of "first wind" include excessive sweating on the head and face and aversion to wind. If the first wind occurs for one day, the illness will worsen and the headache will not be able to exit the body. When the first wind occurs, the illness will be less severe and recover. The condition of being exposed to the wind or excessive sweating, often not wearing single clothes, sweating when eating, and in severe cases, sweating all over the body, wheezing and aversion to wind, always wearing clothes, dry mouth and thirst, unable to do physical work. The symptoms of diarrhea include excessive sweating, sweat dripping onto clothes, dry mouth, exposure to wind, inability to engage in physical activities, and general body pain followed by coldness.
