Hu Jiyun was a Taoist priest in Wudang during the Guangxu period. According to the "Continued Revision of the Taihe Annals", the Tianyun Tower of the Golden Summit Taihe Palace once had 36 halls and buildings. It collapsed due to an earthquake in the 13th year of the Guangxu reign (1881 AD). In the fifteenth year of the Guangxu reign, Hu donated funds to rebuild sixteen rooms of buildings. In the 22nd year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu, Taoist Priest Zhou Xinchun successively built and renovated five more corridor rooms. In the fourth year of the Republic of China (1915 AD), Taoist Priest Wang Longmei renovated six main gate towers and three side rooms, gradually restoring the old appearance of Tianyun Tower. In the year of Xinchou of the Guangxu reign (1901 AD), the Taoist priest Wang Zhigong built two new halls, three new rooms in the Sanqing Tower, three new rooms in the Yuhuang Tower, three new rooms in the Luzu Hall and three new rooms in the guest Hall in Chaoyang Cave. This process lasted for six years. The other deeds of the above-mentioned Taoists are all unknown.
