Duan Yunyang (1658-1741 AD), a native of Xi 'an, Shaanxi Province. According to the "Great Mountain Taihe Mountain Annals" of the Qing Dynasty, Duan became a monk in Wudang and lived in the Kaizhai Hall of Jingle Palace, where he held the position of receptionist. He has served diligently for over fifty years. Duan was also the High Priest of the Taoist temple, well-versed in Taoist rituals. He often worshipped the gods and chanted sutras for those who paid homage to the mountains and prayed to the deities, and his prayers were always effective. At that time, there was a man named Jiao Yinglin from Xiangyang who had no children. Duan prayed for him. The following year, Jiao's wife gave birth to twins. At that time, whenever there was a drought or flood in Junzhou, whenever the governor and the prefect of the prefecture invited Duan Yunyang to pray for them, the prayers were always fulfilled. In the early years of the Qianlong reign, Duan Yunyang raised over a thousand taels of silver in Shaanxi and other places to restore the Holy Parents Hall of Jingle Palace. One day in the sixth year of the Qianlong reign (1741 AD), Duan Yunyang told his disciples that he was about to pass away. He immediately sat down, with his nose hanging over a silk foot, and then vanished. He died at the age of eighty-three.
