Luo Hongxian, styled Dafu and with the pseudonym Nian 'an, was from Jishui, Jiangxi Province. A hermit on Wudang Mountain during the Ming Dynasty. According to the Qing Dynasty's "Great Mountain Taihe Mountain Annals", Luo Hongxian once passed the imperial examination and held the position of Hanlin Zanshan. Later, he was dismissed from office and demoted to a commoner because his remonstrance caused displeasure. So he withdrew into the Taoist sect. He first became a monk on Mount Heng in the South. Later, he entered Wudang and secluded himself on the rock top opposite Laojun Cave. His whereabouts are unknown and no one knows where he ended. Later generations called the place where he practiced Luo Zhuangyuan Rock. Also known as Luogong Rock. It is one of the thirty-six rocks of Wudang Mountain. The birth and death years of Luo are unknown.
