Liu Daoming, styled Dongyang, was from Jingmen, Hubei Province. A Taoist priest of Wudang in the Yuan Dynasty. According to the "Great Mountain Taihe Mountain Annals" of the Ming and Qing dynasties, Liu entered the Taoist sect of Wudang in his early years. Later, he, along with Ye Yunlai and Zhang Daogui, became a disciple of the Yellow cave 囦 immortal and attained the Qingwei Taoist Sect. He later became one of the renowned Taoists of the Wudang Benshan School (Wulong Palace Shangqing School). Liu Daoming often resided in the Wulong Palace to practice internal alchemy. In his spare time, he collected a large number of books and conducted extensive interviews with the old Taoists in the temple and local elders. Based on his own observations and research, he compiled and compiled the two volumes of the grand "Wudang Zongzhen Ji" and "Wudang Jisheng Lu", which have been passed down to this day. These two volumes were later included in the Daozang Canon and are the earliest and most reliable historical documents discovered so far regarding the history and Chronicles of Wudang Mountain. His birth and death years are unknown.
