Yuanhe Taoist Temple

Yuanhe Taoist Temple, as a Taoist prison, has a square and orderly layout of its main buildings and strict rules. The courtyards are layered and deep, with thick Windows and high walls, everywhere demonstrating the solemnity of theocracy and the strict isolation of the prison from the world. Taoism has over a thousand regulations and precepts. Those who violate them are punished according to the rules. For the milder cases, they are punished by kneeling to burn incense and wearing a cane. For more severe cases, there are expulsion, eyebrow branding, walking through the volcano, and burning.
