The main hall of Yuanhe Temple

#Yuxu ·2022-08-20 23:32:13

The main hall of Yuanhe Temple was originally built in the Yuan Dynasty, rebuilt in the tenth year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, and renovated several times in the Qing Dynasty. The main hall is of brick and wood structure, with a five-ridge hard roof and a black tubular tile roof. The front is equipped with double-hinged sash doors. All the original statues in the hall have long since vanished without a trace. What we see now are relocated and displayed cultural relics. On both sides of the main hall stand the six-armored deities, and in front sits Wang Lingguan, dressed in armor and holding a golden whip. They are all the guardian spirit officials of the True Martial Emperor. Since the Ming and Qing dynasties, they have been regarded by people as the gods of inspection both in heaven and on earth. These seven statues of deities are all gilded and cast in copper, with vivid shapes and distinct expressions. They are extremely precious copper casting art treasures.
