The dougong brackets of the Imperial Scripture Hall are architectural remains maintained during the Qing Dynasty and are significantly different from those of the Ming Dynasty. The construction of dougong brackets in the Ming Dynasty was generally simple and heavy, while in the Qing Dynasty, dougong brackets were highly decorative. Together with the wood carvings on the lintels and door lintels, they formed harmonious and beautiful decorative patterns. It can not only bear weight and extend the length of the outer corridor, but also produce a strong decorative effect, which is a creative achievement of ancient skilled craftsmen.
