The Teardrop Pool of the Fuzhen Temple

The "Teardrop Pool" is a building where the ancients ingeniously combined natural spring water with mythological legends. This place was originally a natural spring called Yihong Spring. So people here created a touching story about the empress's search for her son. It is said that the young Zhenwu once practiced Taoism at Taizi Slope. His mother, Empress Shansheng, found him there and persuaded him to return to the palace. Zhenwu remains steadfast and unwavering. Mother held onto Zhenwu's robe tightly and wouldn't let go. Zhenwu drew his sword, cut the robe and left. Seeing Zhenwu leave, Empress Shansheng burst into tears like a fountain, and eventually her tears turned into a spring that flowed all day long. Later generations decorated this spring with a fence for people to admire. Tears form a pool, and the deep bond between mother and son will always touch the hearts of future generations.
