A benefactor came to the rescue

#Inheritance ·2022-08-20 23:32:13

On the ninth day of the fourth lunar month in the second year of the reign of Emperor Dingzong of the Yuan Dynasty (1247 AD), at midnight, in Taziying Village, Yizhou, Liaodong (now the northeast of Fuxin County, Liaoning Province), Mrs. Lin, who was already pregnant, woke up from her sleep and quickly shook Zhang Juren beside her, saying that she had dreamed of a crane flying from the East Sea and landing on the roof of their house. Zhang Juren stroked her bulging belly and said with a smile, "This dream is an auspicious omen. It must be that our son is about to be born!" Hardly had Zhang Juren finished speaking when Mrs. Lin's stomach suddenly began to hurt. Before long, a baby boy was born. Legend has it that at this time, a crane circled the Zhang Mansion three times, let out a long cry and flew up into the sky. The entire Zhang family ran out of the gate, looking up at the cranes singing in the sky, overjoyed. Zhang Juren held his son in his arms and was extremely astonished. This son was exceptionally beautiful and had a turtle-like figure with a crane's bone, big ears and round eyes. He was truly an extraordinary person! So he named him "Quan Yi", where "Quan" means complete, hoping that his son would become a "perfect person" in the future. He also took the character "Junshi", meaning that a gentleman is honest, hoping that his son would become a "perfect gentleman". Zhang Quanyi was extremely intelligent. He started reading at the age of three and had a photographic memory. By the age of four, he could recite a hundred Tang poems backwards. Zhang Sanfeng's father, Zhang Juren, styled Zian and with the pseudonym Beishan, was born into a family of scholars and was said to be a descendant of Zhang Liang, the Marquis of Liu in the Han Dynasty. Emperor Taizong of the Yuan Dynasty recruited talents from all over the country and selected scholars through the imperial examination system. Zhang Juren passed the imperial examination and became a jinshi. However, he was indifferent to his official career and was fond of the countryside. At home, he led a peaceful life with his beloved wife, Mrs. Lin. His parents had high hopes for him, hoping that he would study Confucianism thoroughly and obtain an official position in the future to bring honor to the family. Unexpectedly, when he was five years old, he contracted an eye disease. His eyes were filled with cataracts and the condition was getting worse and worse. It seemed that he was about to go blind. Just as his parents were in a state of restlessness, one day, a wandering Taoist arrived unexpectedly. This person's name is Zhang Yun 'an. He claims to be well-versed in Yin and Yang, predict the future, and be capable of chanting mantras for blessings and making incantations to ward off disasters. Zhang Juren naturally asked Zhang Yun 'an to take a look at his son's eye disease. Zhang Yun 'an stared at Zhang Quanyi for a while. Suddenly, he was so astonished that he opened his mouth wide. After a long while, he finally blurted out, "Oh no!" This son has the air of a celestial being and an extraordinary talent. He will enjoy a long and prosperous life in the future, and his value is beyond words! Zhang Juren asked the unexpected guest to cure his son's eye disease. Zhang Yun 'an held his beard for a moment before solemnly saying, "This child has been obstructed by evil spirits, which is due to the karmic roots of worldly affairs." "Only by taking me as your teacher can you be free from the dust and the pearl of wisdom shine again." " Seeing Zhang Juren's troubled expression, he laughed heartily and said, "Sir, there's no need to worry. This son is my disciple. I will naturally take good care of him. When his shadow is gone and his eyesight is clear, I will return him to your residence." I see that this son still has several decades of official career ahead. Once his wisdom and wisdom are restored, he will immediately start to study Confucianism. Hearing that Zhang Yun 'an was going to take her son to study Taoism, Zhang Quanyi's mother hugged her son tightly, crying and refusing to let go no matter what. Zhang Yun 'an smiled and tried to smooth things over, saying, "In my opinion, it's natural for parents to love their children. But this son's eyes need to be treated. They are on his body, so we need to hear what he has to say." Hardly had Zhang Yun 'an finished speaking when Zhang Quanyi raised his face from his mother's arms and looked at her, asking, "Mother, do you want a blind son to stay by your side or a sighted son to rise to great heights?" " The words shocked everyone. How could this sound like what a five-year-old child would say! Lady Lin and Zhang Juren both stared blankly at their son, listening to him continue, "Mother, Master took the child to cure his eye disease. The child will surely study hard, pass the imperial examination like Father, and serve the court." Mrs. Lin kissed her beloved son and watched Zhang Yun 'an lead him away. Little did he know that after his departure, there was no news at all. Zhang Juren suspected that the Taoist Zhang Yun 'an had set up a fraud and abducted his son. He sighed all day long, fell ill with depression and was bedridden. Mrs. Lin was so moved that she couldn't hold back her tears. As soon as it was dawn, she took a chair and sat at the door, waiting anxiously for her son to come back. Seven years later, Zhang Quanyi, who had grown into a teenager, finally returned. It turned out that Zhang Yun 'an led Zhang Quanyi from outside the pass into the interior and they stayed at Zhenwu Temple in Qingyuan County, Shuntian Road, Hebei Province (now Baoding City). After half a year of treatment, the white films subsided and my eyes regained their sight. Then, Zhang Yun 'an taught him to read Taoist scriptures. He is intelligent and quick-witted, discerning at a glance. In his spare time, he also reads books of both Confucianism and Buddhism. Over the past seven years, he has thoroughly read the Taoist classics of the Thirteen Classics of Taoism, the Confucian classics of the Four Books and Five Classics, and many Buddhist classics. Moreover, he has casually flipped through them and grasped the key points... (Note: All rights reserved. Reproduction or publication is prohibited.)
