Sports serve as an important bridge to enhance human physical health and friendship among people. As a sport, martial arts are favored by people for their characteristics of fitness, self-defense, self-cultivation and competition. It is a sports activity with extensive social value.

Chinese martial arts are rich in content and diverse in form, and are not restricted by age, gender, venue or equipment. Compared with other sports, they have wide adaptability. As a national treasure and an outstanding cultural heritage of the Chinese nation, it is an important part of human science and naturally becomes a compulsory course for primary, secondary and tertiary school students. However, due to the shortage of martial arts teachers and the wide variety of martial arts books, the majority of grassroots sports workers find it extremely difficult to get started when conducting martial arts teaching activities.

Mr. Yang Qunli, a 7th Dan martial arts coach, senior coach and national-level referee, based on his over 20 years of experience and insights as a martial arts coach, believes that, like other sports, martial arts should be learned from the easy to the difficult step by step, starting with grasping the basic movements of martial arts. For this reason, taking the main hand and step shapes of martial arts as the main content, and in accordance with the creation principles and requirements of gymnastics, this set of basic martial arts practice exercises was compiled, which combines various individual and combined movements. This set of exercises consists of eight sections and has no special requirements. Through practice, it lays a certain foundation for the martial arts system. It is suitable for the development of martial arts activities among students in primary, secondary and tertiary schools as well as the general public, and is more suitable for national fitness.

Since its creation, the "Youth Martial Arts Routine" has been piloted in relevant primary and secondary schools and martial arts schools. It has received widespread praise from students and teachers, and has also been recognized by leaders and experts from higher authorities.

We firmly believe that the activities of popularizing and promoting martial arts exercises will attract more teenagers to participate in martial arts training, thereby achieving the wonderful effect of carrying forward the traditional culture of the nation and invigorating the national spirit, and making due contributions to human health and happiness.
