The practice method of Xingyi Bengquan

#Inheritance ·2022-08-20 23:32:13

Guo Yunsen's half-step collapsing fist has swept the world, while Shang Yunxiang's collapsing fist is unrestrained and aggressive... The immense power of Bengquan is truly fascinating. But nowadays, among those who practice Xingyi, only a few can reach the level of the sages of the past. Where is the reason? The author believes that the main reason lies in the difficulty of practicing form and meaning! The most prominent feature of Xingyi Ju is its complex dynamic force, with each form being the superposition of several forces. There is seldom a single force. The highest realm of form and meaning lies in the word "combination", that is, these forces are combined to the greatest extent possible. Take Bengquan as an example. It is the superposition of the following three forces: ① Joint force, that is, the force generated when the arm is bent to extended. ② Middle joint force: The force generated by the twisting of the "dragon's waist". ③ Root joint force: "All information depends on the push from the back foot", the tremendous power generated by the push from the back foot and the push from the front foot. It is the maximum combination of the three external forces that generates the tremendous power of "a punch as powerful as a cannon". The Xingyi Ju method originated from the spear technique, while the Bengquan is the closest to the fist technique. Master Song Tielin said, "The power of the mind is based on the force of the spear's sharpness and the shaking of the bullets." The more proficient one's spear skills are, the stronger one's boxing skills will become. Therefore, those who are accustomed to using the mind should supplement it with spear skills. Based on the above understanding, the author made the following attempts when practicing Bengquan: (1) Break down the three forces of Bengquan, experience them one by one, train them one by one, and gradually "find" that special force of Bengquan. First of all, experience the vigor. Stand in the three-pose pose with the fist fist still, and keep your shoulders still (without any movement of your waist). Take turns to twist and punch forward from the waist. Apart from slowing down the speed, try to meet the theoretical requirements of Bengquan in all other aspects. Especially, one should carefully experience the "momentum of a boat sailing on the crest of the waves", imagining that one's forearms are a small boat, moving forward on the crest of the waves. One can also imagine a punch coming from the waist, slightly moving in an arc, and hitting the opponent's lower jaw in a fixed position. Of course, one should avoid puffing out the chest, lifting the abdomen, and straining one's breath and strength. Focus your mind on your elbow, not on your hand; otherwise, it's easy to lack strength. Secondly, experience the spirit of moderation. That is, on the basis of the above-mentioned joint strength training, add the rotation of the waist, and when punching, move the tips of the shoulders forward. Imagine your torso as the pedals of a bicycle and your spine as the axis, which can freely and flexibly twist left and right. When punching, focus your mind on the shoulder socket, starting slowly and then gradually increasing the speed. The punch that strikes at this moment is the superposition of two forces. This is the practice method of Dingbu Bengquan. Pay attention to coordinating with your breathing. Keep your dantian firm and your chest weak. Finally, experience the spirit of integrity. That is, on the basis of the above-mentioned fixed-step breaking fist, practice the dynamic (progressive) breaking fist. Add the force of pushing with the back foot and dribbling with the front foot. With the big toe of the right foot exerting force, the waist twisting and the shoulders shaking, the force reaches the edge of the fist, "the punch strikes three joints without showing any form." Start slowly and then speed up. Pay attention to twisting your hips. The collapse that occurs at this moment is the superposition of three forces. Only after you have grasped all three forces accurately and then practice step by step can you be said to have mastered the art. (2) Strengthen basic skills training. For instance, standing in the "three-way Pose" can enhance overall quality. Practice every day; Practicing the chicken-shaped step of Henan Xinyi Men can increase the pushing force of the hind legs (the chicken-shaped step is roughly when the heel is lifted off the ground during the progress of the three-piece pose to fully utilize the function of the ankle joint). Practicing the "Dragon Waist" technique of Henan Xinyi Gate can enhance the twisting force of the middle joint and also make the transmission of force more smooth. The above basic skills should be practiced continuously without interruption. This is even more important than boxing postures. (3) Use guns to promote punches. Bengquan seems to be in line with the level spear technique, emphasizing directness and speed. You can prepare a white wax rod and practice the "blocking, grasping and thrusting" marksmanship in your spare time. When firing a gun, use your intention rather than force and do it slowly. Experience one by one the peripheral joint force, middle joint force, root joint force and the combined force of the three forces mentioned above. Note that the gun is an extension of the arm. To combine the arm and the gun, the key lies in the word "combination". The Xingyi Quan Classic attaches great importance to the "Three Joints" theory. Its ultimate goal is nothing more than to correct the habitual mistakes of ordinary people - when throwing punches, they only know to use the flexor and extension force of the arms, but fail to fully mobilize the left and right twisting force of the waist and the backward pushing and forward pushing force of the legs, so as to reach the highest realm of Xingyi Quan - "harmony". If we consciously apply the three-section theory, train the three-section force, and strive to pursue the word "unity", then it is no longer a fantasy to exert the power that a collapsing fist should have.
