Zixiao, a blessed land

#Zixiao ·2022-08-20 23:32:13

The Cavern Heaven and Blessed Land are the places where immortals live in Taoist legends. There are the sayings of "Ten Cavern Heavens", "Thirty-Six Minor Cavern Heavens" and "Seventy-two Blessed Lands". In the late Tang Dynasty, the Taoist priest Du Guangting listed Wudang Mountain as one of the seventy-two blessed places in Taoism in his work "Record of the Famous Mountains and Rivers in Dongtian Fudi". The "Purple Sky Blessed Land" presented on the current picture records the relics of that time. As early as the 15th century, the "Great Mountain Taihe Mountain Annals" recorded that after leaving the Zixiao Palace Taoist Temple, "going eastward and then southward is the Fudi Hall, and there is a red well two steps below the hall." This means that after leaving the Dragon and Tiger Hall of the Zixiao Palace and crossing the south side of the Jinshui Bridge, one will reach the Fudi Gate. Once inside the Fudi Gate, one can enter the Fudi Hall. Under the stone steps of the Prince, there are two red Wells. Unfortunately, the ancient buildings mentioned in the records have long been abandoned 圯, and it is very difficult to trace them.
