The pulse should be discussed in a subtle and meticulous way

The Yellow Emperor asked, "What is the diagnostic method?" Qi Bo's approach to the sun: The diagnosis method is often based on the early morning when the Yin energy has not yet moved, the Yang energy has not yet dissipated, food and drink have not yet been consumed, the meridians have not yet become abundant, the collaterals are evenly balanced, and the qi and blood are inherently disordered. Therefore, it is possible to diagnose the pulse with excess. By observing the movement and stillness of the pulse, one can discern the essence, examine the five colors, reveal the abundance or insufficiency of the five organs, the strength or weakness of the six organs, and the prosperity or decline of the form. Based on this, one can refer to the five elements and determine the distinction between life and death. The meridian is the residence of blood. If it is long, it will be treated by qi; if it is short, it will cause qi illness; if it is numerous, it will cause restlessness; if it is large, the disease will progress; if it is abundant at the top, the qi will rise; if it is abundant at the bottom, the qi will swell; if it is excessive, the qi will decline; if it is detailed, the qi will be scarce; if it is rough, it will cause heart pain; if it is turbid and swollen like a gushing spring, the disease will progress and the complexion will deteriorate; if it is continuous and persistent, it will lead to death. The five colors of shrewdness are the manifestation of qi. Red desires are like white wrapped in red, not like wandering. I wish to be as white as a goose's feathers, not as salty as salt. The blue desires to be like the marsh on the blue wall, not like the blue. Yellow desires to be like realgar wrapped in silk, not like yellow earth. Black should be as dark as lacquer, not as dark as the ground. When the subtle images of the five colors are seen, his life will not last long. Those who are shrewd will view all things, distinguish right from wrong, and judge their strengths and weaknesses. If one regards the long as the short and the white as the black, then the essence will decline. The Five Treasuries are the guardians of the middle. When the middle energy is abundant and full, and the qi overcomes the fear and injury, the voice sounds as if it were coming from the room. This is dampness of the middle energy. Those who speak sparingly and repeat themselves all day long are draining their energy. Those who do not restrain their clothes and bedding, and whose words are neither good nor evil, nor do they avoid closeness or distance, this is the chaos of the divine. Those who do not hide in the warehouse are those who do not want the gateway. A spring that never stops flowing is one that does not hide its bladder. Those who hold on live; those who lose die. The Five Treasures are the strength of the body. The head is the abode of shrewdness. If the head is tilted and the eyes are deep, the spirit will be stolen. The back is the residence in the chest. If the back is bent and the shoulders follow, the residence will be ruined. The waist is the residence of the kidneys. If it cannot rotate and sway, the kidneys will be exhausted. The knee is the residence of the tendons. If it cannot bend or stretch, it will attach when moving, and the tendons will become exhausted. The bones are the abode of the marrow. They cannot stand for long; if they move, they will vibrate and become exhausted. To gain strength leads to survival; to lose strength leads to death. Fang Bo Ri: It is contrary to the four seasons, with excess being essence and deficiency being dissipation. It should be too much and not perfect. There should be insufficient; there should be excess to eliminate. When Yin and Yang are not in harmony, the disease is called Guan Ge. Di Ri: What should be done when the pulse moves at the four times? What can be done when one knows where the illness lies? What can be done when one knows the changes caused by illness? What can be done when one suddenly becomes ill? What can be done when one is suddenly ill outside? May I ask if these five can be heard? Qi Bo said, "Please explain that it is in great harmony with heaven." Beyond all things and within the six harmonies, the changes of heaven and earth, the responses of Yin and Yang, the warmth of spring turns into the heat of summer, the wrath of autumn into the rage of winter, the movements of the four changes are in harmony with the upper and lower parts. Spring should follow the rules, summer should follow the norms, autumn should follow the balance, and winter should follow the authority. Therefore, on the forty-fifth day of the Winter Solstice, the Yang energy ascends and the bright energy descends. On the forty-fifth day of the Summer solstice, the Yin energy slightly rises and the Yang energy slightly descends. Yin and Yang have their time, and they are in harmony with the pulse. They are in conflict with each other. Knowing the division of the pulse and its time, one can understand the time of death. The subtle essence lies in the pulse, which must not be overlooked. Observing it has a record. Starting from Yin and Yang, there are meridians from the beginning. From the five elements, there is a limit to life. The four seasons are appropriate. ① Tonification and purgation ② do not miss it. Be as one with heaven and earth, and have a unified feeling to understand life and death. It is the sound that harmonizes the five tones, the form that harmonizes the five elements, and the pulse that harmonizes Yin and Yang. When Yin is abundant, one dreams of wading through a flood in fear; when Yang is abundant, one dreams of a raging fire burning alive; when both Yin and Yang are abundant, one dreams of mutual killing and destruction; when attempting a basket, one dreams of flying; when going down, one dreams of falling; when facing others, one dreams of giving; when extremely hungry, one dreams of taking; when liver energy is abundant, one dreams of anger; when lung energy is abundant, one dreams of crying; when there are many short insects, one dreams of gathering in a crowd; when there are many long insects, one dreams of mutual destruction and injury. Therefore, the way to hold the pulse is proper, and emptiness and tranquility are the safeguards. In spring, it floats like a fish swimming on the waves. Summer is on the skin, and all things are abundant. In autumn, when the skin is exposed, hibernating insects are about to leave. Winter is in the bones, insects sting closely, a gentleman's abode. Therefore, the daily practice: Those who know the inner self should follow and record it; those who know the outer self should start from the end. These six are the great methods of maintaining the pulse. The heart's pulse is firm and long; when the sick tongue curls up and cannot speak. Those who are scattered within should destroy themselves. If the lung pulse is firm and long, it indicates that one may spit blood when ill. When it spreads and dissipates, it is due to the illness causing excessive sweating until it no longer spreads. The liver pulse is firm and long, not bluish in color. When one is ill, they feel as if they are beating, as the blood is in the hypochondrium, causing shortness of breath. If the symptoms are severe and the color fades, it is due to excessive drinking. Excessive drinking is caused by excessive thirst and excessive drinking, which can easily affect the skin, intestines and stomach. If the pulse of the stomach is firm and long, and its color is red, it indicates a broken sign of illness. If the symptoms disperse, it indicates that the illness is due to indigestion and numbness. A firm and long spleen pulse with a yellow color indicates shortness of breath due to illness. If the affected foot is swollen and discolored without luster, it will be like water. If the kidney pulse is firm and long, and its color is yellow and red, it indicates that the patient is bending over. If the symptoms disperse, it indicates a lack of blood due to illness. The order will never cease. The emperor said, "The heart pulse is found to be rapid. What disease is this?" He Zhenqi said, "The name of the disease is heart trace. The lower abdomen should have a form." The emperor said, "Why do you say so?" Qi Bo said: The heart is the storage of the large intestine, which is the function of the small intestine. Therefore, the lower abdomen should have a shape every day. The emperor said, "I have diagnosed the stomach pulse. What is the condition like?" When the stomach meridian is excessive, it causes distension; when it is deficient, it leads to diarrhea. The emperor said, "What does it mean when a disease changes after it has occurred?" Qi Bo said: Wind turns into chills and fever, Yi turns into diarrhea, jutou turns into peak disease, prolonged wind turns into diarrhea, and wind in the pulse turns into illness. The changes of illness are countless. Emperor's Day: Are all kinds of abscesses, muscle cramps and bone cancers safe? Qi Bo Ri: This is the swelling of the cold, a change of eight feet. Emperor Ri: What should be done about governance? Qi Bo Ri: For the diseases of these four seasons, the best treatment leads to recovery. The emperor said: Since the five viscera of diseases are triggered, due to the damage to the pulse and color, how can one know whether they are long-term and severe diseases? Qi Bo said, "What a question!" If the pulse is small and the color does not change, it indicates a new illness. If the pulse is not detected but the color is not, it indicates a long-term illness. If the pulse and the five colors are all captured, it indicates a long-term illness. If the pulse and the five colors do not interfere with each other, it indicates a new illness. When the liver and kidney meridians converge and the color is dark red, it indicates that the disease has caused damage and no blood is visible. If blood is already visible, it means that the dampness is like water in the middle. The two sides inside the foot indicate the side of the body, the outside indicates the kidney, and the inside indicates the abdomen. The left side is placed outside to wait for the liver. ① Appropriate; ② Tonification and purgation: (Tai Su) follows the sequence of numbers. ③ Order: The original work was "now", but it was modified according to (too tiring). Different. To come later; The outer right side is for the stomach, and the inner side is for the tablets. Attached above, the right side is for the lungs and the inside is for the chest. Externally, it awaits the heart; internally, it awaits the heart. The front follows the front, and the back follows the back. "Going up to the top" refers to matters concerning the chest and throat. "Xia jing Xia" refers to the matter of the lower abdomen, waist, thighs, pancreas and feet. A thick and large one is characterized by insufficient brightness and abundant Yang, indicating a state of heat. The onset is rapid and the departure is slow. The upper part is solid but not weak. This is called the disease of the syncope peak. A wind that comes slowly and goes quickly, is weak at the top and strong at the bottom, is an evil wind. Therefore, when there is an aversion to wind, it is due to the absorption of Yang energy. When there is a deep and fine pulse, it indicates the Lesser Yin syncope. The detailed and scattered symptoms indicate cold or heat. Those who float and scatter are wretched. All that is not impetuous is in Yang, and thus it is heat. If there is restlessness in the hand, and all the fine and heavy ones are in Yin, it will be bone pain. There is stillness at one's feet. The disease lies in the Yang meridian, with pus and blood in the pool and the stem. When it passes through, it should be cut. If it is astringent, it indicates that there is an excess of Yang energy, and if it follows along, there is an excess of Yin energy. When there is an excess of Yang qi, the body feels hot and there is no sweating; when there is an excess of clear qi, there is excessive sweating and the body feels cold; when there is an excess of Yin and Yang, there is no sweating and the body feels cold. If we extend this outwards and keep it within, it indicates the accumulation of the heart and abdomen. If it is pushed inward but not inward, there is heat in the body. Push upwards, upward but not downward, the waist and feet are clear. When pushed down but unable to rise, it causes pain in the head and neck. When pressed to the bone, if the pulse and qi are weak, it indicates pain in the lower back and numbness throughout the body.
