Zhang Sanfeng entered Wudang County and saw that surrounded by four mountains, there was a dark mass of buildings and tiled houses, of varying heights, crisscrossing streets, shady green trees, and a bustling scene of people and vehicles. He felt that this place was extraordinary. When he arrived at the Wudang County Government Office (now the Yuxu Palace), he saw that within the eight-shaped white walls, the main hall was raised, backed by green mountains and facing the street, looking very imposing. Under a plastered wall, I saw a notice wanted for him, with his portrait painted on it. The notice said: "Zhang Quanyi, the magistrate of Qingyuan County, colluded with the rebel Zhu Yuanzhang and deliberately plotted a rebellion. He fled to Jintai Temple and pretended to be dead, leaving behind an empty coffin before fleeing. A special photo was painted and posted here. We hope that all prefectures and counties will do their best to capture him." This incident had a great impact on Zhang Sanfeng. He never expected that the corrupt imperial court would still not let him off the hook until now. Thinking of the fact that the government had actually believed that Taoist scoundrel who had informed on him at Jintai Temple and had dug up his grave, he became even more determined to uphold humanity. When Zhang Sanfeng first arrived in Wudang, he was also arrested by the imperial court. It was inconvenient for him to stay at the various palaces and temples on Wudang Mountain. He saw a cave (now the Ancestral Master Cave) at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain to the west of the Wudang County Government Office. Although the cave was dark and filthy, it was still a place to hide. He pulled a bundle of dry grass from the mountain, placed it in the hole and sat inside to practice meditation. Jinggong, also known as "Neidan Gong", is considered accomplished only when it reaches the stage of forming Dan. The dark and filthy cave was an ideal place for practicing meditation. From meditation to fasting, he could go without a meal for ten days or even half a month. Sometimes when he went out to beg for alms, he could eat several liters of rice in one meal. Zhang Sanfeng lived in the cave for three years, practicing Jing Gong until he reached the stage of forming a pill, and finally achieved it. At this time, his clothes were dirty and tattered. He asked the benefactor to fix them into a "Bai Na" garment. His hair and beard were as fluffy as grass. Due to not washing his face or taking a bath for many years, his face, hands and legs were smeared and black. People all called him "Scruffy Taoist", or "Zhang Scruffy", "Scruffy Zhang". Zhang Sanfeng had mastered the Inner Elixir technique and left the cave. He left Wudang County and came to Jiulong Mountain on the east side of the county town. Surrounded by mountains and water and shaded by green trees, it was a paradise for cultivation. So he built a nunnery at the foot of Jiulong Mountain and named it "Huixian Pavilion". He practiced static Qigong at night and dynamic Qigong in the morning, and attempted to combine the two. But he tried many times but failed. That morning, as soon as he reached the field in front of the door and was about to practice the skill of combining movement and stillness again, he suddenly heard magpies chirping wildly behind the thatched cottage. He couldn't help but walk over to see what was going on. When he turned the corner of the room, an interesting phenomenon came into his view. On a paulownia tree, a magpie's nest was built. A flower snake had ulterior motives and was about to go into the nest to eat the magpie's eggs. The magpie guard and the flower snake engaged in a rare battle. Magpies are flying around, trying to peck at the flower snake. The snake's tail got entangled in a branch. Its body suddenly dodged, waiting for an opportunity to bite back, but the magpie twirled away. The two of them gently twirled back and forth, swirling and dancing, fighting for a long time without a clear winner. Zhang Sanfeng concentrated and watched for a while. Suddenly, he realized that the coiled flower snakes and the flying magpies were precisely circling the Tai Chi. Great! When practicing martial arts, one should do it this way. Inspired by this, Zhang Sanfeng grasped the true essence of Taoist dynamic martial arts. He combined Tai Chi, the Eight Trigrams, and internal alchemy, and integrated the martial arts techniques of martial artists and the military strategies of military strategists. Through creation and evolution, he developed a brand-new set of martial arts that were as still as a virgin, as dynamic as flying feathers, as gentle as a snake, and as fierce as a tiger. This set of boxing techniques, featuring the steps of the Ganges and the Dou, arcs and circles, uses stillness to counteract movement, softness to overcome hardness, and leveraging force to strike back and counterattack. At that time, Zhang Sanfeng only created thirteen forms, which were later designated as the "Thirteen Forms of Sanfeng Tai Chi Chuan". This was the first Wudang Neijia Quan created by Zhang Sanfeng since the beginning of time, and it was the mother form of Neijia Quan. Based on Zhang Sanfeng's Tai Chi, later generations have continuously developed it, forming a vast Wudang Tai Chi system with numerous schools and styles, which has spread throughout China and become popular all over the world. After several years of practice, Zhang Sanfeng has mastered the thirteen forms of Tai Chi to perfection. One day, while he was practicing boxing, a young Taoist suddenly came and stopped to watch for a long time, unable to believe what was happening before him. This Taoist was named Sun Biyun. Since childhood, she had become a substitute for a rich man and lived in the Yuxu Temple in Wudang County. She often saw Zhang Sanfeng looking untidy and thought he was a crazy Taoist from another place. Unexpectedly, today when he went out to beg for alms and passed by Jiulong Mountain, the scruffy Zhang he saw turned out to be a highly accomplished and powerful martial artist. When Zhang Sanfeng finished his boxing, he went over to become Zhang Sanfeng's disciple. Sun Biyun was the first disciple that Zhang Sanfeng took on since he became a monk. His teaching was naturally very serious. He taught Sun Biyun "Taoism, Confucianism and Buddhism" in literature and "Tai Chi" in martial arts, imparting comprehensive knowledge to her. Sun Biyun is extremely intelligent and makes rapid progress in her Taoist studies. As Zhang Sanfeng took Sun Biyun as his disciple, his slovenly true self gradually came to light. Soon after, several eminent Taoist masters of Wudang became his disciples, among whom Li Suxi was relatively famous. Later, according to Zhang Sanfeng's wishes, he presented "Langmei Immortal Fruit" to Emperor Yongle, making significant contributions to promoting the great restoration of Wudang by Emperor Yongle.
