Professor Zeng Yujiu, male, was born in October 1952 and graduated from Wuhan Institute of Physical Education in 1974. He has successively held positions as a martial arts teacher at Wuhan Institute of Physical Education, head coach of the college's Sanda team and Taekwondo team, master's supervisor in martial arts, deputy director of the martial arts teaching and research section, director of the Wushu Teaching and Research Section, director of the Sanda teaching and research section, and deputy director of the Wushu Department. He is currently concurrently a member of the Referee Committee of the Chinese Wushu Association, a member of the Wushu Branch of the Chinese Society of Sports Science, a director of the Hubei Wushu Association, and an international-level Wushu referee. Comrade Zeng Yujiu has a strong sense of dedication and practicality. He works diligently and has a quick academic mind. He has been the first in the national martial arts circle to put forward novel academic viewpoints many times, which have been widely promoted and applied. He has made contributions to the prosperity of Chinese martial arts academic research and the improvement of martial arts competitive level. The debut work "Creation of Wushu Routines" written in 1977 was adopted by the unified textbooks of the National Institute of Physical Education. The suggestion of classifying and competing traditional Wushu routines proposed in the paper "On the Reform of Wushu Competitions" published in 1980 has been adopted by the National Wushu Championships and championship competitions up to now. In 1979, China began to experiment with and study the Wushu Sanda project. Professor Zeng Yujiu was one of the main founders of the Sanda project. Under the chairmanship of the General Administration of Sport of China, he participated in a large amount of work and wrote the "Competition Rules of Wushu Sanda" and the "Refereeing Method". Since 1988, Professor Zeng Yujiu has served as the head coach of the national Wushu Sanda training team on multiple occasions, cultivating a large number of outstanding Wushu sanda athletes for our country. In 1995, he became the head coach of the Taekwondo team of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education and the coach of the national Taekwondo team. Over the past few years, one international athlete and 16 athletes have been cultivated, and they have won a total of 24 gold MEDALS in the National Taekwondo Championships and Championships. At the "Ninth National Games" that concluded last year, the students of the college's Taekwondo team represented the People's Liberation Army, Guangdong, Shanghai and Hunan in the competition and achieved remarkable results, winning 2 gold MEDALS, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze MEDALS. Therefore, Professor Zeng Yujiu at Wuhan Institute of Physical Education enjoys the reputation of "Gold Medal Professor". Since 1987, Professor Zeng Yujiu has repeatedly served as the main teaching instructor for the national international Wushu Coaches Training Class, the National Sanshou Coaches Training Class, the National Sanshou Referees Training Class, and the National Wushu School Principals and Coaches Training Class. Comrade Zeng Yujiu has served as the chief referee, deputy chief referee and chief referee of many international and domestic martial arts competitions. He was awarded the title of Outstanding Referee by the General Administration of Sport of China. Although Professor Zeng Yujiu has a heavy daily teaching and training workload, he actively participates in scientific research and various academic activities, achieving fruitful results. In recent years, he has successively served as the executive editor and participated in the compilation and public publication of works such as "Textbook for Chinese Sports Coaches' Position Training - Wushu Sanda", "Introduction to Traditional Ethnic Sports", "Encyclopedia of Chinese Wushu", "Chinese Sanda", and "Handbook of Wushu Cultural Knowledge". In addition, more than thirty papers have been published. Among them, the key project of the Ministry and Commission, "Research on the Current Situation and Development of National Wushu Schools and Institutions", has passed the expert group's appraisal and received high praise. Five papers, including "On the Technical Characteristics of Wushu Sanda" and "Intelligent Training of Taekwondo Athletes", have won the Excellent Paper Award. In addition, the "Rotating Elastic Sandbag", "Group Fatigue Eliminator" and "Combat Item Group Testing Instrument", which were led and participated in the research and development, have been granted national utility model patents. Since 2002, Professor Zeng Yujiu has been in charge of the Wushu Department of Wuhan Institute of Physical Education. Currently, with the spirit of reform, innovation and progress, he is sparing no effort to unite and lead all the faculty and staff of the Wushu Department to strive for the realization of the "Tenth Five-Year Development Plan" of our institute and to make efforts to promote Chinese Wushu to the world.
