Tai Chi practitioners have already incorporated the Five Elements and the Eight Trigrams. So how did this Bagua Tai Chi get its name? There are currently two types of so-called "Bagua Tai Chi Chuan" popular in the market: One is publicly disclosed by Zhao Zengfu, the 11th generation master of the Zhao Bao Tai Chi Chuan style (his own master). This style was created by Zhang Yan, the 6th generation master of the Zhao Bao Tai Chi Chuan style. When he was doing business in Shandong, he killed a huge python in Caozhou Prefecture. Eliminate bullies; After the monk who killed the evil spirits removed the three evils for the local area, the locals erected a monument to worship him, believing that he was blessed by the gods and bestowed upon him the title of "Divine Hand Zhang Yan". Zhang Yan took on a large number of disciples in Shandong, ensuring that the art of Tai Chi was passed down from generation to generation, reaching Mr. Ma Yongsheng in Liaocheng, Shandong. Ma Yongsheng, also known as Ma Rongsheng (1891-1957), was of Hui ethnicity. He freely studied Chachan. After reaching adulthood, he went out to seek teachers and visit friends, and passed on the art in Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions. Together with his younger brother Ma Rongzhang, he established a Tai Chi society in Suzhou. At that time, there were many students. He authored the book "New Tai Chi". Mr. Ma Yongsheng passed on his martial arts skills to Mr. Wang Huaide. In the autumn of 1974, Mr. Wang Huaide visited his daughter in Xi 'an. Every day, he practiced martial arts near Chaoyangmen in Xi 'an. When he met Master Zhao Zengfu, they felt very close and got along well. When Mr. Wang learned that Master Zhao Zengfu was the 11th generation successor of Zhao Baojia, he was overjoyed and felt as if he had met him earlier. When Mr. Wang talked about the origin and inheritance of Tai Chi, he could recite it off the top of his head. He informed that the Tai Chi form he practiced was taught by Ma Yongsheng and evolved from the Zhao Bao form. Old Master Wang passed on this boxing form to his grandmaster Zhao Zengfu. Half a year later, he passed away at the age of eighty-three. In the 1980s, when Master Zhao Zengfu was practicing Tai Chi on the playground, he was seen by a colleague. This colleague did not practice Tai Chi, but had read a book titled "New Tai Chi" published by Ma Yongsheng and bought by his father, which was kept at home. Therefore, the book "New Tai Chi Chuan" was presented to Master Zhao Zengfu. After obtaining this book, Mr. Zhao, combining decades of Tai Chi practice, continuously delved into and pondered over it, making the Tai Chi forms he practiced more in line with the requirements described in Mr. Ma Yongsheng's book. Because this boxing form has absorbed the theories and forms of the Eight Trigrams in its arrangement, it makes the external images concrete and quantified: for instance, according to the division of Tai Chi into two instruments, the boxing form is divided into two sections. The two instruments give rise to the four images, so the boxing form is divided into four sections. On the movement route of the boxing frame, press: Dry (open the door) northwest; South of Li (Jingmen) North of Kan (Xiumen) Dui (Jingmen) West; Zhen (Shangmen) Dong Southeast of Xun (Du Men) Gen (Sheng Gate) Northeast; Southwest of Kun (the Dead Gate), the formation is strictly arranged, so the fist is in eight directions, thus forming the external image of the eight directions and five directions. His boxing postures and movements also take the five kinds of birds. The Five lower beasts. The top five birds: phoenix; Crane Eagle; Yan; Sparrow. The next five beasts: Dragon; Tiger Lion; Horse; Monkey. When this boxing form is codified, it is quite spectacular. During the long-term teaching of Tai Chi, it was called "Bagua Tai Chi" for the convenience of teaching. In fact, it is just a synonym. The purpose is to distinguish it from other forms of Tai Chi. In the final analysis, it is still Tai Chi. The correct name should be "Eight Trigrams Orientation Frame" or "Eight Directions Frame". At present, this form of Tai Chi has been compiled into a book titled "Chinese Bagua Tai Chi" and published. It has been earnestly practiced by the disciples and students of Master Zhao Zengfu, and many students have won awards in domestic Tai Chi competitions with this form. Another situation known as "Bagua Tai Chi Chuan" is: Yang Luchan and the founder of Bagua Quan (palm), Dong Haichuan in the past; Xingyi Quan master Guo Yunshen Exchange skills. Dong Haichuan found that although the three martial arts had different practice methods, their principles were consistent. He came up with the idea of taking the strengths of Tai Chi to make up for the shortcomings of Bagua Quan. So he composed a set of practice methods similar to Tai Chi, which were to walk in a straight line, and passed them on to Cheng Tinghua. Disciples such as Liu Dekuan. It is said that Yang Luchan had a son-in-law named Xia Guoxun, who also learned Yang Luchan's Tai Chi skills. Later, Cheng Tinghua; Li Kuiyuan; Liu Dekuan; Zhang Zhankui Formed a close friendship with Xia Guoxun and exchanged martial arts skills with him. Cheng Tinghua; Liu Dekuan taught Xia Guoxun to practice Bagua Quan. Xia Guoxun teaches two people Tai Chi. The three of them jointly developed and compiled a set of boxing frames, which were Tai Chi frames. The Bagua force is a form of Tai Chi that is quite different from the style of Tai Chi. It was passed down to Guo Zhushan by Cheng Haiting, the son of Cheng Tinghua, and then by Guo Zhushan to Zhang Wanying and others, and has been passed down to this day. This boxing style is mainly popular in the areas of Beijing, Tianjin and Shandong. This kind of "Bagua Tai Chi Chuan" is ultimately still Bagua Quan (palm), following Xingyi Quan. According to the predecessors of Bagua Quan, it is to draw on the strengths of Tai Chi to make up for the deficiencies of the Bagua Training method.
