Wudang Mountain stretches for eight hundred miles. "Seventy-two peaks face the summit, and twenty-four streams flow continuously." The magical creation of nature has endowed Wudang Mountain with a unique charm. Since ancient times, it has been hailed as "an unparalleled scenic spot since ancient times and the first immortal mountain in the world." Since the Spring and Autumn Period, Wudang Mountain has been an important religious site and holds a prominent position in the history of Taoism in China. During the Song Dynasty, Wudang Mountain had already formed the Wudang Taoism, which was mainly characterized by the worship of the Supreme deity of the Dark Heaven. Since the Tang Dynasty, almost all feudal emperors of previous dynasties have vigorously supported Wudang Taoism. During the Ming Dynasty, Taoism in Wudang reached its peak. Wudang Mountain became a royal temple and, with its lofty status as the "Mystic Mountain of the World", became the center of Taoist activities across the country. The ancient buildings on Wudang Mountain are grand in scale, magnificent and resplendent. They embody the grandeur and magnificence of the supreme imperial power and the sacred and celestial palaces, while also creating the mysterious and transcendent atmosphere of the fairy-like mountains and pavilions that Taoism reveres. The highly harmonious unity of its humanistic and natural landscapes has amazed the world. Tens of thousands of religious artworks, as the image embodiment of Wudang Taoist culture, form the most charming humanistic landscape of Wudang Mountain. These artworks artistically reproduce the origin and development process of Wudang Taoism, as well as the glorious history of China reaching its peak. Wudang martial arts, which originated from the mother of Wudang Taoism, are the brilliant crystallization of the exploration of life sciences. Known as "internal martial arts", Wudang Quan stands out in the martial arts world with its unique style of being relaxed and natural, gentle on the outside and firm on the inside, and its continuous and unbroken movements like floating clouds and flowing water. It has become one of the main schools of Chinese martial arts. The Taoist music of Wudang is as elegant and refined as the sounds of nature... The Taoist religious activities in Wudang are mysterious and enigmatic, as if they were conversing with the heavens... ... UNESCO wrote in its application for World Cultural Heritage: "Wudang Mountain is one of the most beautiful places in the world, where ancient wisdom, historical architecture and natural beauty are integrated..." The great history of China still remains in Wudang Mountain,... Visiting the rich cultural characteristics of China here is an unparalleled experience both physically and mentally.
