There is no specific record in historical materials as to when the Dragon and Tiger Hall of the Five Dragons Palace was first built. However, in terms of its architectural scale and specifications, it was created when the first emperor of the Yuan Dynasty bestowed the "Five Dragons Lingying Palace". It was destroyed by war at the end of the Yuan Dynasty. It was restored in the fifth year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty, that is, 1286 AD, and was rebuilt in the tenth year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty. The Dragon and Tiger Hall we see now was rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty. The hall faces east with its back to the west. It is of brick and wood structure, with a hard roof and a raised beam wooden frame. The roof is covered with small blue tiles. The width is three bays, 17 meters, the depth is two bays, 9 meters, and the total height is 10 meters. On both sides of the hall, there are still two clay statues of a blue dragon and a white tiger from the Yuan Dynasty. The size of these two statues is the largest in Wudang Mountain.
