Huayang Rock is located to the east of Wulong Palace. It is backed by a high rock and faces a deep valley, making it a natural cave. In front of the cave, the grass and trees are lush. The hanging vines are like brocade screens and green curtains, interspersed and interwoven, making it an ideal place for quiet rest and self-cultivation. According to records, during the Tang Dynasty, a Taoist named Yang Huayang once practiced in this cave, and later generations thus called it "Huayang Rock". Huayang Cave is 3 to 6 meters high and 5 meters deep. Inside, there is a stone hall with the style of the Yuan Dynasty and three stone tablets. Among the three steles, one records the event of the restoration of the Wudang Taoist Temple and the fundraising for the reconstruction of the main hall of the Wulong Palace under the chairmanship of the renowned Taoists Shao Minggeng and Li Mingliang of Wudang Mountain in the Zhiyuan year of the Yuan Dynasty. Among the other two steles, one records the life story of Li Mingliang. One is a self-portrait stone carving. The self-portrait of a Wudang Taoist was carved on a stone. This is the first one discovered on Wudang Mountain and is extremely precious.
