The Yellow Emperor asked, "I have heard that the sky is Yang and the earth is Yin. The sun is Yang and the moon is Yin. A month, big or small, takes 360 days to form a year. People should follow this." Today, the three Yin and three Yang do not correspond to Yin and Yang. Why is that? Qi Bo said to the Sun: "Yin and Yang can be counted in ten, deduced in a hundred, counted in a thousand, or in ten thousand. Ten thousand is so vast that it cannot be counted. However, their essence is one." When the heavens and the earth are overthrown, all things come into being. Those that have not yet emerged from the earth are destined to be in the Yin of the sun, which is called the Yin within Yin. Then those who emerge from the earth are the Yang within the Yin of the sun. Yang nourishes the body, and Yin governs it. Therefore, it is born in spring, grows in summer, gathers in autumn, and stores in winter. When it is abnormal, the four sides of heaven and earth are blocked. The changes of Yin and Yang in human beings are also few and far between. The emperor said, "I wish to hear about the separation and combination of the three Yin and three Yang." Qi Bo said: The sage stands facing south. One day is bright and bright, and the next day is Taichong. The place where Taichong is located is called Shaozu. Above Shaoyin, it is called Taiyang. The root of Taiyang starts from Zhiming and ends at Mingmen, which is called Yang within Yin. From the middle body to the top, it is called Guangming; below Guangming, it is called Taiyin; before the sun, it is called Yangming. Yangming's retribution arises from Lidui, and it is called Yang within Yin. The surface of the Jueyin is called Shaoyang. The root of Shaoyang originates from the orifices and is thus called the Shaoyang within the Yin. Therefore, the separation and convergence of the three Yang energies are as follows: the sun is the opening, the Yangming is the yan, and the Shaoyang is the pivot. The three meridians must not be lost to each other. They should be broad-minded but not superficial, and their daily life should be one Yang. The emperor said, "I wish to hear the three aggregates." Qi Bo said, "The external is Yang, and the internal is Yin." However, the middle part is Yin, and when it confronts the lower part, it is called Taiyin. The Sun originated from the hidden white and was called the Yin within Yin. After the Taiyin, it is called Shaozu. The root of Shao Peng originates from the spring, and it is called Shao Yin within Yin. Before Shaoyin, it was called Jueyin. The Jueyin root originates from the Great Tun. The ultimate Yang of Yin is called the ultimate Yin of Yin. Therefore, the separation and convergence of the three Yin states are as follows: the Taiyin is the opening, the Jueyin is the threshold, and the Shaoyin is the pivot. The three meridians must not lose each other. When fighting, one must not sink. This is called the One Yin. Yin and Yang remain and accumulate to form a cycle. The qi inside, the form outside and the exterior complement each other.
