"Shou Zhen"

Laozi said: A sage is one who ADAPTS to one's emotions, eats according to one's stomach, dresses according to one's body, and restrains oneself. There is no reason for the mind of corruption to arise. Therefore, those who can have the world must not have done anything for the world. Those who can have a good reputation must not seek it by going beyond their bounds. When one truly understands the emotions of life and nature, benevolence and righteousness will follow. If the spirit is unobstructed, the heart is unburdened, the path is clear and unobstructed, and one is calm and composed, unable to be lured by power and gain, unable to indulge in sensual pleasures, unable to speak, unable to move by the wise, and unable to be afraid by the brave, this is the journey of a true person. Those who are born do not come into being, and those who are transformed do not transform. Those who do not reach this path, even if they know to govern the universe, illuminate the sun and the moon, and their explanations are continuous and their words moisten metal and stone, still do no good to the world. Therefore, the sages do not lose their guard.
