"Guarding the void"

Laozi said: A sage is one who finds his position in accordance with The Times and enjoys his work in the present era. Sorrow and joy are the evil of virtue, likes and dislikes are the burden of the heart, and emotions and anger are the faults of the way. Therefore, his life is the will of nature and his death is the transformation of things. When still, he is in harmony with Yin; when in motion, he is in harmony with Yang. Thus, the heart is the master of the form, and the spirit is the treasure of the heart. When the form is exhausted without rest, it will decline; when it is fully utilized without stopping, it will be exhausted. Therefore, the sage follows this and dares not overstep it. When there is nothing that should be, one must investigate its reason; when there is emptiness, one must accept the real; when there is emptiness, one must exhaust one's integrity; when one is content and calm, one must end one's life. There is nothing that is , nothing that is close to one's relatives. One must embrace virtue and harmony, follow the will of heaven, be in harmony with the Way, be close to virtue, not start with fortune, not be preceded by misfortune, and remain unchanged in life and death. Therefore, one is called the supreme God. God, on the other hand, seeks to achieve everything, believing that nothing is impossible.
