Taoism regards Laozi as its leader, takes the Tao Te Ching as its classic, and regards "Tao" as its fundamental belief. The supreme deities worshipped in Taoism are the "Three Pure Ones", who are the highest deities in the Taoist divine system, among which Laozi ranks third. Historically, from the Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties to the Northern Song Dynasty, it was a period when Taoism flourished. The Northern Song Dynasty inherited the Tang Dynasty's policy of integrating Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism and supporting Taoism, providing conditions for the prosperity of Taoism at that time. This huge statue of Laozi was carved on Wudang Mountain in the Song Dynasty, which can be said to be a historical product that emerged in response to The Times. After a thousand years of vicissitudes, although this statue has been somewhat eroded and weathered, it still reveals profound cultural connotations to people and is well worth the appreciation and study of later generations.
