The "Jiguan Yuntai" stele was erected in the tenth year of the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty. It is made entirely of white marble and is over two meters tall. The inscription "Jiguan Yuntai" is written on its forehead. The "Yuntai" refers to the platform in front of a grand palace. The intention of the person who erected the monument was to express his remarkable achievements on the "Yuntai". The inscription records the suppression of the peasant rebel army in Xiangyang by the Qing government. In the middle of the Qing Dynasty, peasant uprisings broke out one after another in various places. During the Jiaqing period, Wang Cong 'er of Xiangyang became a key force in the White Lotus Rebellion. Due to the corruption of the officers and soldiers and their weak combat effectiveness, Emperor Jiaqing spared no expense to rely on landlords to organize local militia and local militia to suppress the rebel army. The Tang Zhoufang and his "Xunfang Camp" praised on this stele were the landlord armed forces at that time. It is learned that Tang Zhoufang was appointed as the alternate prefect and later promoted to "Butong". In the fourth month of the seventh year of the Xianfeng reign, he and General Bayang 'a defeated the peasant rebel army and pursued them all the way to Wudang Mountain. On the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, they quelled the rebel army at Zijin City on the Golden Summit. This stele is an important historical material for studying the decline of the Qing Dynasty and the ideological conditions of the government and the people.
