The revolutionary relics of the Fuzhen Temple

In front of the Sutra Storage Building is the third courtyard of the Fuzhen Temple. On the north side, there is a guest reception room, which was called the "Official Hall" in ancient times. On the screen wall in front of the official hall, there are slogans of the Red Army from the period of the Land Revolution. In 1931, the Red Third Army led by General He Long moved to Wudang Mountain and established a Soviet regime in the Wudang Mountain area. Liu Zhixun, director of the Political Department of the Red Third Army and secretary of the Special Committee of the Communist Party of China in Western Hubei, personally wrote the slogans "Carry out the Land Revolution", "The Red Army is the army of workers, peasants and the poor" and "Political Department of the Eighth Division of the Red Third Army" on the screen wall. According to the investigation of the history of the Communist Party of China, in May 1931, the Red Army opened up the base area in the northwest of Hubei Province with Wudang Mountain as the center and established the Special Committee of the Western Hubei Branch with Liu Zhixun as the secretary. The Red Army liberated Jun County and built a Red Army Martyrs' cemetery. Liu Zhixun once wrote a couplet with his pen: "Junzhou was captured by the Red Army as iron as iron, and the steel-cast heads were sacrificed for the workers and peasants." In September of the same year, General He Long led the main force south to Honghu. Liu Zhixun remained in the Wudang Mountain area to establish a Soviet regime, redistribute land, and set up mass organizations such as the Poor Peasants' League and the Women's Congress. In April 1932, Liu Zhixun led his troops to Honghu Lake and sacrificed his life shortly after.
