Laojun Hall

The Laojun Hall, also known as the Laojun Hall in history, as the name suggests, is a place dedicated to the worship of the Supreme Elder Laojun. According to historical records, there were already Taoist buildings here during the Tianqi period of the Ming Dynasty, and they were renovated in the first year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. There were still 54 halls, temples and houses in the late Qing Dynasty. According to expert investigation, the original stone foundation of Laojun Hall was grand in scale, and the existing buildings at the site might have been built by folk believers and were not the original appearance. From this, it can be seen that the grand ancient architectural complex of Wudang Mountain has endured many vicissitudes. What remains now is only one-tenth of what it was in the past. Looking back and reflecting on the present, we can only gaze at the past in our imagination.
