Huilongguan is located on the vast slope of Wudang Mountain. In the tenth year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, 14 rooms including the Xuan Emperor Hall, the mountain gate, 廊庑, the abbot, the dining hall and the warehouse were built. In the Qing Dynasty, more were added. It covers an area of more than 2,000 square meters. After a fire in history, Huilongguan became what it is now. The Huilong Temple was built based on a plot in the legend of Zhenwu. Legend has it that when Zhenwu first came to Wudang Mountain for cultivation, he returned due to his wavering will. On the way, he met the Purple Qi Yuanjun who had transformed into an old woman and was enlightened by grinding an iron rod into a needle. At first, Zhenwu did not understand its meaning. But when he reached this point, he had a sudden enlightenment and resolutely returned to continue his cultivation, eventually achieving the Great Way. The vast slopes and mountains wind their way, like a long dragon. The sudden rise of a peak is like a dragon looking back. On this "dragon's head" high ridge, the Huilong Temple was built, which shows that the ancients were full of wisdom in their creation. In the Ming Dynasty, someone wrote a poem to describe this legend of true martial arts cultivation, which reads: "Suddenly, my wisdom and nature were in harmony with the heavens, and I was moved by the divine language and returned to the path of cultivation."
