The Wuyun Tower of the Fuzhen Temple is the tallest existing wooden structure on Wudang Mountain. In ancient times, the working people built five-story wooden high-rise buildings without excavating the mountain, completely following the changes of the mountain terrain. They created a building area of 544 square meters and a height of 15.8 meters, achieving the best dual effect of overall layout and practicality. The Wuyun Tower adopts traditional ethnic construction techniques. Its walls, partitions, doors and Windows are all made of wood. The internal halls and rooms on each floor are adapted to local conditions and have their own variations. The most famous feature of the Wuyun Tower is its one pillar and twelve beams on the top floor. That is to say, on one main pillar, there are twelve beams and lintels chiseled in and interlaced. This purely architectural framework has always been highly praised by people and thus has become a major humanistic landscape in the Fuzhen Temple.
