The Jade Emperor is the chief deity among the deities revered in Taoism. During the Western Zhou Dynasty, there were sayings such as "Huangtian", "Haotian" and "Tian Di". During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the belief in the "Jade Emperor" was widely popular. According to Taoist legend, the Jade Emperor governs the Three realms, the ten directions, the four Lives, and the six paths, holding immense power. Although his status in the Taoist divine system is not as high as that of the "Three Pure Ones", in the religious beliefs of the common people, he is worshipped as the supreme deity. Its appearance is: dressed in the Nine-chapter ritual robe, wearing a diadem on the head and holding a jade tablet in the hand.
