The Thunder God Cave Stone Hall is the Thunder God

Thor, the god of thunder. The belief in the thunder god originated from the ancient people's natural worship of the phenomenon of lightning. In the Shan Hai Jing, there is already a description of the Thunder God, which says: "He has a dragon's body and a human head, and his belly is bulging." It is a half-human, half-beast image. It is recorded that in the Yuan Dynasty, the Thunder God Flag appeared. On the flag, the Thunder God was depicted as: "The ghost of the Great Way, with a white crown, a red bull nose, a yellow belt, holding an axe in his right hand and a chisel in his left, transporting a drum in the fire." When axes and chisels strike, there is lightning; when drums are struck, there is thunder. On Wudang Mountain, where the peaks are like flames, it is even more necessary to adjust the balance of water and fire. This seated statue of the Thunder God is a clay sculpture from the Ming Dynasty, painted and decorated with gold. The figure features a human body with an eagle's head, three wide-open eyes, shoulders and wings about to spread, dressed in a robe with a belt, human feet and eagle claws, vividly lifelike. With his superb skills and vivid images, he presents to us the charm of the Chinese Thunder God in the 15th century. At the same time, it records a wonderful ancient legend.
