Xie Tiandi Rock in Nan Yan Palace

#Nan Yan ·2022-08-20 23:32:13

Xie Tiandi Rock, located in the sheer cliff of Feisheng Rock, is an ancient scenic spot. Historical records state that here, "the stone wall is thousands of feet high, with a deep ravine at the bottom, making it impossible for apes and cranes to pass through." In the Song Dynasty, there lived an extraordinary person here. He never ate a grain of food. On this ten-thousand-foot rock face where birds and beasts rarely traveled, he walked with great speed and as if on flat ground. When someone asked him his name, he only replied, "Thank goodness." People then called this place "Xie Tiandi Rock". Later, people also called this place "Big Pot and Big Stove", saying that during the Great Repair of Martial Arts in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty, this was where craftsmen built POTS and cooked meals.
