The Seven-star Tree is located at the foot of the Seven-star Rock. It is said that there is a pool here, in which there are seven pebbles as beautiful as the Big Dipper. On a clear night, they shine brightly. It is called the Seven-star Pool. After a landslide, the Seven-star Pool was submerged, but seven huge fir trees grew there. At night, their leaves glistened and shone, resembling the Big Dipper, thus they were named the Seven-star Trees. Beside the Seven-star Tree, there is a small peak that resembles the tip of the Tianzhu Peak in Wudang. Its size is just right to be placed on the top of the Tianzhu Peak, so people also call this place Little Wudang. The wonders of nature's creations have become the material for the creation of myths and legends. It is said that the Golden Summit of Wudang Mountain was originally guarded by the Buddha of Infinite Abode. When the Great Emperor Zhenwu was enfeoffed to govern Wudang Mountain, the Buddha of Infinite Abode refused to abdicate. After discussion between both sides, the Boundless Buddha was willing to give up eight steps of land. However, to everyone's surprise, the eight steps of land measured by Zhenwu was actually 800 li. Zhenwu said to the Boundless Buddha, "I only receive incense; you may enjoy blessings." Having said that, he brandished his sword and cut off the mountain peak. The Boundless Buddha, along with his small stone hall, flew here and transformed into a small Wudang. To this day, there is still a small stone hall of the Boundless Buddha on Xiaowudang. Perhaps it is because of this legend that in the past, when people went up the mountain to offer incense, they would keep saying as they walked: "The ancestral master received incense, and the boundless Lord received blessings."
