In 1613 AD, standing in the middle view of Qiongtai on Wudang Mountain, Yuan Zhongdao, a literary figure of the Ming Dynasty, gazed into the distance at the opposite cliff and wrote the description: "The sheer cliffs are perched on rocks, and the hidden among the trees are like beehives." On the ten-thousand-foot cliff near the Tianzhu Peak of Wudang Mountain, many hermits have lived and secluded themselves here since ancient times. How did these recluses live in their retreat caves? Recently, a team from the Wudang Mountain Natural Landscape Investigation Task Force crossed the lofty mountains and deep valleys to explore the "beehive" described by Yuan Zhongdao. The on-site investigation by the task force found that among these caves, there was one named "Ladder Rock", which not only had a suspension bridge and wooden ladders flying in the air, but also well-preserved stone tablets from the Jiajing and Wanli periods. Directly beneath the cave lies a "retreat cave" that is in use... The mysterious Wudang Mountain has left us with too many unsolved mysteries...
