This pavilion-style building is called the Drum Tower. It was restored on the site of the Ming Dynasty when the Zixiao Hall was being renovated in 1994. This has practical significance for later generations to have a comprehensive and intuitive understanding of the imperial palace architecture of the Ming Dynasty. The morning bell and evening drum are essential morning and evening rituals in Taoist temples. The evening drum is the sound of the drum in the evening, so it is built on the west side. Taoism holds that this can be used to summon all the spirits, enhance the grandeur of the palaces and temples, and boost the atmosphere of the mountains and hills. In Taoist temples, all the ten directions of the monasteries are equipped with bell towers and drum towers. The term "morning bell and evening drum" is widely used and also has the meaning of alerting and awakening people.
