The Six-Section Theory of Zangxiang

The Yellow Emperor asked, "I have heard that the sky forms a year with six divisions, the earth forms a year with nine divisions, and humans have three hundred and sixty-five divisions. I have thought that heaven and earth have existed for a long time. Do you not know what they mean?" Qi Bo said to the sun: "What a clear question!" Please speak out accordingly. The hexagram six and the hexagram nine and nine converge, thus it is the proper measure of heaven and the number of qi. Heaven determines the movement of the sun and the moon. Qi Shu is the function of regulating, transforming and generating. The sky is Yang, the earth is Yin, the sun is Yang, and the moon is. Yin has its own divisions and periods, its cycles have their own principles, and the daily cycle is one degree, while the monthly cycle is thirteen degrees, which is quite unique. Therefore, the three hundred and eighty-five days of the big and small months make up a year, and the accumulation of energy leads to a leap year. Establish the beginning, express the right in the middle, and extend the rest to the end, and the celestial measure will be completed. The emperor said, "I have already heard of Heaven's judgment. May I hear how the numbers of the qi can be combined?" Qi Bo said: The sky takes six as its festival, and the earth takes nine as its meeting. There are ten days in a day. After six days, a week is completed, and after six days, a year comes to an end. This is the rule of three hundred and sixty days. Since ancient times, those who have reached the heavens are the foundation of life, rooted in Yin and Yang. The qi of the nine provinces and nine orifices all connect to the weather, so it generates five and its qi is three. Three forms heaven, three forms earth, and three forms human beings. When three are combined, they form nine. Nine is divided into nine fields, and the nine fields are nine concealments. Therefore, the form stores four and the spirit stores five, which are combined into nine stores to respond to each other. The emperor said, "I have heard of the six-six festival and the nine-Nine meeting. The master said that there is an accumulation of qi and a leap year. I would like to hear what qi is?" Please, Master, enlighten me and clear my doubts. Qi Bo said, "This is a secret of the gods. It was passed down by our ancestors." Emperor's Day: Please hear this accordingly. Qi Bo said: The five days are called "hou", the three "hou" are called "qi", the six "qi" are called "shi", and the four "shi" are called "sui", and each follows its main function. The five cycles alternate and all are governed. On the day of the end of spring, this cycle repeats itself, with the qi spreading out at different times, like a circle without end. The same method applies to the waiting period. Therefore, if one does not know the increase of years, the waxing and waning of qi, and the rise of deficiency and excess, one cannot be considered skilled. ① Xiao: The original work is "Xiao", adapted from (Tai Dong). ② Place: The original work "person", modified according to the following text. Section ③ : Originally absent, added based on the previous text. The emperor said, "At the beginning of the five cycles, if there is no end to the cycle, what if it is too much or too little?" Qi Bo said, "The five qi are more established, each having its own shares. The transformation of abundance and deficiency is the constant." The emperor said, "How can one maintain a peaceful state of mind?" The day of Qi Bo: It means there is no fault. The emperor said, "What can be done if it's too much?" The day of Qi Bo: It exists in the classics. The emperor said, "What is a share?" The Qi Bo Day: Spring surpasses Long summer, long summer surpasses winter, winter surpasses summer, summer surpasses autumn, and autumn surpasses spring. It is said that it is the best of the five elements, each with its own energy to determine its storage. The emperor said; How can one know its stocks? The day of Qi Bo: Seeking its arrival, all return to the beginning of spring. When it comes before it arrives, if this adjustment is too excessive, then the weak will not be able to win, and the strong will take advantage of the strong to win. The daily energy is excessive. If one arrives but does not arrive, this is called "not arriving". Then, one will engage in false behavior, suffer from illness, and be unable to bear it. One's life will be under pressure day by day. The so-called pursuit of the ultimate is when the qi reaches its peak. Wait for the right time, for the energy will come as expected. If the timing is missed and the five treatments are not properly managed, evil and deviant tendencies will arise, and the work cannot be controlled. The emperor said, "Is there any that will not be inherited?" The Qi Bo Day: The energy of the heavens cannot be impermanent. When qi does not attack, it is in a state of extreme regulation; when it is extreme, it will change. The emperor said, "What can we do if we change beyond the ordinary?" Qi Bo's Day: When change occurs, illness follows; when victory prevails, it weakens; when defeat prevails, it worsens. Therefore, if one is deeply affected by evil, death will follow. Therefore, when it is not the right time, it becomes insignificant; when it is the right time, it becomes even more severe. Bring back: goodness. I have heard that when the qi converges, it takes shape; when it changes, it sets the right name. The movement of heaven and earth, the transformation of Yin and Yang, among all things, which is less or more, can it be heard? Qi Bo Ri: All these are questions! The sky is so vast that it cannot be measured, and the earth so great that it cannot be attained. A great deity asked, "Please present your direction." Grass grows in five colors, and the changes of these five colors are beyond sight. Grass has five flavors, and the beauty of these five flavors is beyond compare. Different desires have their own ways. Heaven feeds people with the five qi, and earth feeds people with the five flavors. The five qi enter the nose, are stored in the heart and lungs, and ascend to make the five colors clear and the sounds clear. The five flavors enter the mouth and are stored in the stomach and intestines. When the flavors are stored, they nourish the five qi. When qi harmonizes, body fluids complement each other, and the spirit naturally arises. The emperor said, "How about concealing the image?" The Qi Bo Day: The heart is the foundation of life and the transformation of the spirit. Its luster is manifested on the face and its fullness is reflected in the blood vessels. It is the sun within Yang and connects with the summer qi. The lung is the root of qi and the location of the soul. Its luster is reflected in the hair and its fullness in the skin. It is the Taiyin within Yang and is connected to the autumn qi. The kidney governs hibernation, is the foundation of storage and preservation, and is the source of essence. Its luster is manifested in the hair, and its fullness is found in the bones. It is the least obstructed element among the Yin and is connected to the winter qi. The liver is the root of the dead and the abode of the soul. It is manifested in the claws and filled in the tendons to generate blood and qi. It has a sour taste and a bluish color. This is the Shaoyang within the Yang, which is associated with the spring qi. The spleen, stomach, large intestine and small intestine, the three jiao and the bladder, are the foundation of the warehouse and the residence of the vital energy. They are called qi, which can transform the waste and change the taste to enter and exit. Their luster is reflected in the white lips, their fullness in the muscles, their sweet taste, and their yellow color. These are of the Yin category and are connected with the earth qi. All the eleven storehouses depend on the gallbladder. Old friends welcome a prosperous day, but illness lies in Shaoyang. The second illness lies in the sun. The Three excesses of illness occurred in Yangming. The fourth Sheng has reached the highest level of Yang. When the cun Kou is thick, the illness is in the Jueyin. The second major illness lies in less obstruction. The Three Excesses disease lies in the Taiyin. When the four Sheng have ascended, it becomes Guan Yin. When a person's face is only four times larger than the cunkou, it is considered the Guan Ge. If the Guan Ge meridian is weak and cannot suppress the vital energy of the earth, one will die.
