How to correct tightness and headache caused by a deviated forehead?

#Health-preserving ·2022-08-20 23:32:13

Teacher Kong De: Hello! I'm a Qigong enthusiast and often read some Qigong magazines. Last autumn, I developed symptoms of lower back and leg pain, which was diagnosed by a doctor as rheumatism. Although I take medicine every day, it still has no effect so far. In order to recover as soon as possible, I began to practice Li Shaobo's True Qi Circulation Method and Lin Yuan's scientific rapid cultivation method. Due to the eagerness for quick success and the lack of guidance from a teacher, I went astray. Even when I practice Qigong, I can't reach the state of qigong, and there's no sense of qi in my dantian. The symptoms of deviation include numbness, swelling and a wheezing sensation in the nose, inner corner of the eye and forehead, as well as tightness in the forehead, which is milder when the eyes are open and more severe when the eyes are closed. It is light in the morning and heavy in the afternoon and evening. And accompanied by headache. I have been away from home for more than two months. I hope you can offer me several methods that can help me correct my mistakes on my own and get out of the pain as soon as possible. Best regards! Teacher Kong De replied: First, the formation of rheumatism is a disease accumulated from long-term infection with rheumatism. There is no quick cure for this disease; it requires a relatively long process. In theory, treating rheumatism with Qigong can definitely eradicate it, but in practice, it may take longer than taking medicine for treatment. Because compared with treating diseases with medicine, treating diseases with merit is "peace talk", while treating diseases with medicine is "strong attack". Therefore, it is best to combine practicing martial arts with taking medicine, which will make it come faster. But even so, it all requires a process (and both the practice and the medicine must be appropriate), and there is nothing that can be achieved quickly. Hoping for quick success is a kind of luck, laziness and "contrary to science". Second, there are various types of Qigong exercises, each with its own functions and key points for practice. Every Qigong practitioner not only needs to choose the exercise that suits their own illness and conditions, but also must strictly follow the key points of that exercise. Otherwise, it is easy to go astray. Based on the symptoms you have experienced, I judge that this is mainly due to your excessive use of force in the area of your nose, inner corner of your eye, and forehead during your practice. When the eyes are open, the mind leaves this area, so it is light. When closing the eyes, the mind focuses on this area again, so it is heavy. I feel light when I wake up in the morning because my mind is scattered and relaxed during sleep. In the afternoon and evening, it's because you consciously or unconsciously focused your mind on this area during the day. Discipline and governance methods: 1. Stop practicing the martial arts you are practicing. If possible, you can learn and practice other martial arts (such as Tai Chi, 八卦掌, xingyi quan and other internal martial arts); 2. Do a facial massage every day when it is prone to deviation. You can refer to the third section "Eye Care (Correction) Exercises" in the article "How to Treat Myopia" on page 52 of the 7th issue of Wudang in 2001. After finishing, alternate patting your forehead with both hands until you feel comfortable. 3. Clench your fists tightly and make a jumping motion in place, shaking your whole body with your feet. Doing so can eliminate deviations. This reply is provided for your reference.
